Group action for TWG

To bring together its foodservice wholesalers and suppliers, The Wholesale Group held its annual Development and Innovation Days

The two-day event saw 20 of the group’s foodservice wholesalers forge connections with 60 new and established suppliers, discuss purchasing strategy and access event-exclusive deals.

Brands such as Bannisters, Wafflemiester and Birds Eye took part in an expo format on day one, before other suppliers such as Kraft Heinz, Nestle Professional and Santa Maria joined wholesalers for a series of one-to-one meetings.

Members could also get up close and personal with The Wholesale Group’s own-brand ranges including CORE Juices, which launched earlier this month.

The format for the event had been adapted following wholesaler and supplier feedback from last year’s event. “We took into account feedback from those who attended last year and made some changes to ensure we put on the best possible event for our members and supplier partners,” explained Coral Rose, Managing Director – Foodservice.

Darren Gaulton from Charles Saunders, a board member of TWG, praised the event for boosting accessibility to suppliers: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for networking with members and suppliers, while discussing the latest trends, sharing NPD plans and learning how we can all work together to help overcome common challenges in the industry.”

Following the event, food waste and hunger charity FareShare collected all leftover goods for local charities.
