Beverage Brands is aiming to help independent retailers drive sales of WKD by providing them with an offer for their shoppers in a promotion available through cash and carry outlets from this month.
Retailers buying five cases of WKD will receive a free box of crisps which they can use to reward shoppers with a free packet in return for every two bottles of WKD purchased. “This will raise the retail profile of the brand and encourage impulse purchase through rewarding shoppers with instant added-value,” says Karen Salters, marketing director of Beverage Brands. The promotion will be supported with point-of-sale for retailers.
In addition to current TV advertising, brand awareness is also being generated through advertising in washrooms of on-trade outlets.
That will be backed up by advertising in washrooms at football stadia to coincide with the start of the new Premier League football season in August.
