Enfield-based wholesaler JJ Food Service has announced it is launching a range of crisp, confectionery and snack lines “to offer existing customers a broader range of products while attracting business from new market sectors”.
The foodservice specialist kicked-off with a selection of SKUs at the start of the year, including crisps, chocolate bars, chewing gum, cereal bars, nuts and more.
Chief product officer at JJ Food Service, Ali Guvemli said: “Early feedback and sales indicate that the trial period has been extremely popular. We will gradually expand the range in response to customer demand.”
Guvemli added that the new lines will help existing customers to consolidate their shopping list to one supplier, saving time and money. “Previously, people were going elsewhere to buy these products. Now they are doing a bigger shop with us.”
JJ hopes to attract customers from new market sectors as a result. “While our business caters mainly for foodservice outlets, our competitive pricing and efficient ordering process will appeal to independent retailers, too. Our prices are fully visible via our website and customers can order online for same-day collection or next-day delivery.”
More than 50% of sales at JJ come from orders placed online. This increases to 70% when customers visit a branch and place an online order via a touch-screen monitor. “We appreciate that customers want to spend as little time as possible shopping, so if an order is placed from home or work for collection, customers can be in and out of a branch within five minutes,” he added.
The new lines will be backed with an eight-week promotional brochure covering May and June, available digitally at www.jjfoodservice.com and will be shared via JJ’s social media streams at the end of this month.
