Unilever Foodsolutions has launched a low fat version of its Hellmann’s Caesar Dressing with just 2.8g fat per 100ml.
Clare Barber, brand manager – dressings at Unilever Foodsolutions, said: “The arrival of Hellmann’s Low Fat Caesar Dressing is fantastic news for chefs and caterers because it makes it easier to recreate an indulgent Caesar salad and still meet customer demand for healthier menu choices.
“Consumers are becoming increasingly health conscious and this desire for a healthier diet means that 30% of people now choose salad as their main meal. The salad bar offering can sometimes be limited however, particularly when it comes to dressings; consumers want more choice, which sometimes isn’t there.”
She added: “Dressings offer the ideal way to add interest and value to a salad bar offering. They also help to maximise revenue and profit; a basic salad can be transformed into a more substantial dish simply by adding croûtons and a Hellmann’s dressing, for example.
