The call for more nutritious foods aimed at children has led to Grampian Foodservice launching two new healthy options which have been specifically developed to meet the current guidelines set out by the Government.
Premium British Chicken Burgers and Reduced Fat Pork Sausages are specifically aimed at the school meals sector. The new 94% meat premium chicken burger is a combination of breast and thigh meat, ground and formed to provide a healthy burger. The sausages, with a 64% meat content and low in sodium, are available in 8s, 10s and 12s and are produced using prime pork with added seasoning. The fat and sodium contents for both products fall within the FSA proposed targets for children.
Bryan Jackson, Grampian Foodservice business manager, said: “We are demonstrating our commitment to provide the education sector with wholesome options for mealtimes. A healthy, balanced meal provides all the essential vitamins and minerals integral to the wellbeing and development of children. These two new products are part of our expanding healthier portfolio and we will be introducing further products to this range in the near future.”
