Bakehouse has launched a Chocolate Praline croissant for the foodservice industry.
The croissant was developed to capitalise on the current buoyancy of the Viennoiserie market and increasing popularity of premium flavoured products.
According to Bakehouse, the Viennoiserie sector currently accounts for 5% of bakery sales, with sales having grown by 23%, and croissants enjoy a penetration level of 29.6%. This makes it a perfect time for coffee and sandwich shops to extend their product offering and for pubs and restaurants with coffee facilities to develop trade between traditional service times, which can increase sales opportunities.
The croissants are supplied frozen and bake for 20 minutes.
