Australian wine brand Hardys has launched a Hardys Chef of the Year competition.
The competition is open to all chefs working in the on-trade and offers a first prize of pound;5,000 cash plus pound;5,000 for the outlet where they work. The competition gives chefs the opportunity to show an understanding of wine and food matching by submitting their own recipes, designed to complement a Hardys wine.
The four finalists will cook and display their dishes at Pied aacute; Terre on September 30 where an overall winner will be selected.
Clare Griffiths, VP brands marketing of Constellation Europe, said: “We are building Hardys’ relationship with food through a competition that is relevant to the working lives of chefs and will inspire them to be more creative with wine and food.”
