S N celebrates Newcastle Brown

Scottish Newcastle is celebrating the 80th anniversary of the launch of Newcastle Brown Ale with a new look limited edition bottle label which will appear on the 550ml bottles from August.

The new design shows a silhouette of the Tyne Bridge together with an artist’s image of the Millennium Bridge which spans the Tyne river between Gateshead and Newcastle contained within the background of the brand’s Blue Star motif.

Doug Cook, brand manager – Newcastle Brown Ale at Scottish Newcastle UK, said: “The new label celebrates the history and modernity of a unique beer that was created in Newcastle in 1927 to satisfy the hard-earned thirst of local miners and shipbuilders and went on to garner universal acclaim and strong sales in more than 40 countries around the world.”
