Merrydown launches coloured cardboard outers for its cider

Merrydown is reinforcing its premium cider credentials in the cash and carry sector by moving from shrink wrap outers into cardboard. The new 6×1 litre boxes are printed in full colour and include a replica of the bottle for instant recognition.

Managing director Chris Carr said: “We pride ourselves on being the most premium cider in the cash and carry sector and it is only right we should also look the most premium.”

The new Merrydown cases, colour-coded to differentiate between dry and medium variants, also offer the flexibility to flag-up special offers on the outside.

Carr added: “Our aim is to make things as easy as possible for our independent customers. Whenever we are offering special prices for independent retailers, we will also supply the cash and carries with display posters to give at-a-glance buying and selling prices and margin percentages. Added to that, the boxes are better for display, making life easier.”
