Nestlé Rowntree has clinched a deal to be an official partner of Warner Brother’s film Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
“We are absolutely delighted,” said Graham Walker, Nestlé Rowntree sales communications manager. “Not only is it one of the most famous children’s books ever, but it is also all about chocolate.”
To coincide with the launch of the film on July 29 Nestlé Rowntree will be launching three new products featured in it: Whipple-Scrumptious Fudgemallow Delight; Nutty Crunch Surprise (the surprise is it contains no nuts); and Triple Dazzle Caramel (impulse bar RRP 45p, 150g block RRP Â£1.49).
Five Golden Tickets to be found inside the wrappers will replicate the most famous promotion of all time and will bring dreams to reality. The prize will be a family trip to the US, including a tour of the Wonka factory and Warner’s Studios.
Nestlé Rowntree will also be creating a special TV commercial to support the products.
“Retailers are facing a massive opportunity here,” said Walker. “In the film, we have effectively got a 90-minute advert for these products.”
