Nestlé Confectionery is launching Rowntree’s Randoms into the confectionery category.
The jelly sweets come in a variety of textures, flavour and shapes and are free from artificial colours and flavours.
Randoms are designed to extend the Rowntree’s appeal to a young adult audience, who look for spontaneity in their lives. There are 258 different sweets from four different textures, six fruit flavours and 70 shapes, the aim is to provide a different mix of sweets in each of the 50g bags.
According to Nestlé, Rowntree’s grew 8% last year and by 25% in 2007.
Graham Walker, trade communications manager of Nestlé UK, said: “We’re very excited about this product, which offers variety like never before in fruit confectionery. Rowntree’s Randoms should be displayed next to the till as well as on the main fixture to capitalise on what is expected to be one of the biggest confectionery launches of 2009.”
