The first deliveries of packet butter for the foodservice and retail channels from Muller Wiseman Dairies have arrived in depots.
The 100% British butter is made using milk from Red Tractor approved UK farms and comes in unsalted and salted variants, which are both certified Kosher.
The unsalted butter is also Halal approved. Muller first opened its £17m butter plant in 2013 – producing block butter for the food processing and ingredients sectors.
Speaking of the launch, Muller’s MD Carl Ravenhall said the business produced more than 90m litres of excess cream each year and producing the butter went some way to displacing butter imports into the UK with imports falling by 10% in Muller’s first year of butter-making and exports increased by 37%.
