Mattessons, the meat snacking brand from Kerry Foods, is extending its range with the launch of a snack aimed at adults on-the-go. Launching next month, Mattessons Strip Sticks are chicken skewers made with 100% chicken breast and high in protein. Although the foundations of chilled snacking were built on child and teen snacking, over a short period of time, Mattessons says that there is also “a great sales opportunity” within adult snacking.
The launch aims to tap into meat snackin, a category which is currently growing at 9% year on year [Nielsen Scantrack Convenience/Total Market MAT Value to WE 31.01.15]. 90% of this growth is incremental to the cooked meats category, meaning that consumers are not switching from one product to another, but adding to their consumption. This is a trend which retailers can capitalise on by stocking the new product range from Kerry Foods.
Available in Classic Roast in both a Strip Stick single 50g portion (RSP: £1.49) and Strip Sticks Minis Multipack of two 30g portions (RSP: £1.69). The new addition to the range will be available to impulse via Kerryfresh.
