Imperial Tobacco launches Player’s as a ‘sub-value’ cigarette brand

Imperial Tobacco is launching Player’s, a new ‘sub-value’ priced cigarette brand.

Sue Tranter, consumer marketing manager at Imperial Tobacco, commented: “Imperial Tobacco has chosen to position Player’s just below the value priced sector, making it the first ‘sub-value’ priced cigarette brand available in the UK.”

The RRP is pound;2.99 and pound;5.83 for Player’s King Size 10s and 20s, and pound;3 and pound;5.88 for Player’s Superkings 10s and 20s.

“By providing Player’s to their tobacco shoppers, retailers will have an opportunity to ensure their value-seeking consumers can move in to the more profitable ‘sub-value’ sector,” said Tranter.
