Imperial Tobacco has announced another new addition to its growing Carlton cigarette range – Carlton Superkings Menthol in packs of 19; this brings the total number of SKUs in the Carlton range to seven.
Imperial says that Carlton is now “the UK’s number one sub-economy cigarette brand”. Brand portfolio chassis manager Madeleine Pearce says: “Menthol currently accounts for around 8% [IT estimates] of volume across the factory made cigarette (FMC) market, and our new Carlton Superkings Menthol has been designed to suit the preferences of the increasing number of downtrading smokers moving into the sub-economy sector.
“Given Superkings are often the preferred choice of menthol smokers this compelling new addition to the Carlton range offers consumers a great value menthol cigarette.”
Imperial says the sub-economy price sector now accounts for around 24% of cigarettes sales and has witnessed significant growth in recent years as many adult smokers become increasingly price conscious.
Carlton Superkings Menthol 19s has an RRP of £6.40, with price-marked packs available at £6.19 while stocks last.
