Nestlé Rowntree has introduced a new Smarties variant, Smarties Big Flavas, giant fruit flavoured chocolate Smarties with an RRP of 35p for 40g.
Currently Smarties is most popular among 7-ll-year-olds, but Big Flavas is designed to appeal to an older audience with more sophisticated tastes, and thus generate sales among a wider age range.
“This is a truly unique innovation from one of the best-selling kids’ brands, that has been driven entirely by consumer demand,” said Graham Walker, Nestlé Rowntree sales communications manager.
“Everyone knows that the orange Smarties taste of orange, and it seems that older kids want more Smarties like this. This is a fantastic opportunity for retailers to take advantage of a stated consumer demand and generate new sales and extra profit.”
Big Flavas will be one of Nestlé Rowntree’s brands participating in the Wonka Golden Ticket promotion.
