Fisherman’s Friend is launching its first summer advertising campaign.
The focus will be on the imminent smoking ban by targeting smokers who ‘need a friend’. Running from the start of July the campaign will feature in the Metro newspaper and MSN Messenger website. Fisherman’s Friend will be inviting consumers to visit its new ‘Friends Re-ignited’ micro-site to join in debate, games and advice on giving up.
This is the first time Fisherman’s Friends has been advertised outside the winter period and the new campaign and is running through wholesalers and cash and carries, inviting retailers to purchase a box of 24 Fisherman’s Friends lozenges to obtain a second box half-price.
Martin Stimson, UK area business manager of Fisherman’s Friends, said: “The campaign develops humorously as the smoking ban comes into effect and positions our best-selling Fisherman’s Friends Original Extra Strong as the perfect friend for smokers who feel left out in the cold.”
