United Biscuits UK is aiming to grow sales of its Hula Hoops and McCoy’s brands by a total of £47m during 2005 with a number of new products and by refocusing Hula Hoops.

This month will see the introduction of McCoy’s Specials with the backing of a £4m marketing campaign including TV advertising. The product will be available in three variants in 50g handypacks (RRP £1.35) in cases of 30, and there will be four flavours in 160g sharing bags (RRP £1.35) in cases of 12.

Hula Hoops will be targeted at family members, with new TV ads highlighting the fun aspect of the brand. A new Cheese and Onion flavour handy pack is being introduced and there will be new multipack mixes.

Greater standout on shelf in stores and cash and carry depots will be provided by redesigned packs and cases.
In the wholesale channel the company will be providing POS to highlight the activity across the two brands.
