Deep Crisp pizza plans deep sales

Dr Oetker has launched the deep pan pizza, Deep Crisp, to add to its range of frozen products.

The Deep Crisp has a 25cm diameter base and is topped to the edge; it has a cooking time of 12-15 minutes. It is available in Four Cheese Red Onion, Pepperoni Supreme, Hawaii and BBQ Chicken. The pizza will benefit from a pound;6m marketing spend with advertising, PR and sampling over 2007 and 2008.

Matthew Wilson, head of marketing at Dr Oetker UK, commented: “At Dr Oetker, we want to challenge the existing order in the frozen pizza sector and inject some innovation and enthusiasm back into the market, offering consumers what they really want. The Deep Crisp really is a new generation of deep pan pizza with a base that is crispy on the outside with a soft inside.”

Deep Crisp has an RRP of pound;2.29.
