Chesterfield fills a gap in portfolio

Philip Morris is giving its Chesterfield brand a full launch in the UK, and has added a new product to its Marlboro range.

Jens Behrendt, managing director of Philip Morris UK, said Chesterfield, the world’s fifth largest cigarette brand, had previously only been available from a handful of specialist retailers in the UK, but would now be supported by a full trade program of activities.

He said Philip Morris had identified a gap in its portfolio in the UK in the fast growing value segment that Chesterfield could address. It will be available in Red, Blue and Menthol, in standard and price-marked packs at a recommended retail price of pound;5.75 per 20s pack, and Chesterfield Red is also available in 10s at pound;2.95 per pack.

Marlboro Gold Touch is slightly thinner than Marlboro Gold Original and will be available in standard and price-marked packs at a recommended retail price of pound;6.20 per 20s pack.
