Britvic Soft Drinks, is launching J #8322;O Spritz, a new lightly sparkling adult soft drink, into the on-trade and foodservice sectors, with a retail channel launch planned later in the year.
Described as “a blend of crisp fruits and delicate bubbles crafted especially for adult social occasions”, it is, says Britvic, intended to provide “a more sophisticated and lighter taste experience than the core J #8322;O range”, the new premium offering is available in three flavours – Pear amp; Raspberry, Apple amp; Watermelon and Peach amp; Apricot.
The J #8322;O Spritz range will be available in 275ml bottles (fewer than 55 calories per bottle), and is designed to be served chilled in a champagne flute.
Britvic says J #8322;O Spritz is targeted at 25-35 year old men and women who enjoy social get-togethers. Socialising accounts for almost half of total beverage spend in the UK, with £27.5bn spent on drinks when socialising in-outlet, and yet soft drinks currently make up only 15% of this [CGA, MAT 1/11/14].
The brand will also be launched into the retail trade in 750ml bottles, initially into the multiples and then the wholesale trade. Britvic will be investing in an engagement programme with the on-trade and hospitality sector.
