Woodward Foodservice has received two accreditations from the Seafish Authority and the British Retail Consortium for its fresh fish processing unit in the West Midlands.
Woodward achieved these after audits and inspections earlier in the year.
It had to demonstrate best practice in fish processing with specific focus on the equipment, working practice and hygiene.
Woodward Foodservice delivers thousands of frozen, fresh fish and meat, chilled and ambient products to catering businesses across the country. It’s fresh fish unit, located in Birmingham, is the central hub and a team of 55 staff source and prepare all the fish before it is packaged and delivered to UK customers.
Rob Moore, quality assurance manager of Woodward’s fresh fish unit, said: “Our state-of-the-art facility has a team of experts focused on sourcing quality produce from around the globe. We have a quick turn around on processing so that we ensure the freshest produce is delivered to our customers across the UK.”
