Available on first-come-first served basis, 200 independent retailers can be the first to receive the new Blueprint for wine local store wine-tasting kit.
Comprising posters, sampling glasses, personalised door-to-door leaflets and a corkscrew, the kit is designed to encourage retailers to maximise the theatre in their store and promote their wine range locally.
Wholesalers too can support their stores by helping with special offers specifically for wine tasting sessions which are proved to be very popular with shoppers.
Alan Toft, Blueprint chairman, says: “The idea behind the wine tasting kit is similar to the Wine Wheels in that it takes the mystery and confusion out of purchasing wine. Tastings bring in-store theatre to the shop.
“Wine tastings in a local community store bring a nice touch to the shop – especially if you make it a wine and cheese event. It’s an educational activity which shows the local shop in a good light.”
