As ProWholesaler went to press last week, snow was causing major disruption across the country, with staff struggling to reach depots and head offices and major problems for deliveries.
In the south east, 3663 was faced with the double problems of dangerous road conditions, and finding that many of its customers, such as schools and businesses, were closed, making deliveries impossible.
It was quick to respond, catching up its deliveries by doubling up, making redeliveries and in some cases using couriers, to make sure its customers got its products.
At the Battersea depot, where there were 600 non-deliveries, it was all hands on deck. The whole senior management team got involved, with the depot general manager working as a van assistant to help get deliveries out.
Further north, Parfetts managing director Steve Parfett said customers were proving very resilient and were getting to depots so they could continue to serve their customers.
