Members of the FWD revealed their choice of the best brands, products and innovations of the year at the FWD’s Gold Medal Awards last night.
Coca-Cola European Partners won the Gold Medal Grocery Brand with Monster Energy, while Tetley from Tata Global Beverages picked up the foodservice equivalent. The award for best drinks brand went to Corona from AB In-Bev UK for the second year running. Two awards for product innovations went to AG Barr for Rubicon Spring Water and Unilever Food Solutions (UFS) for its Chef Rewards initiative. UFS also won a medal for process innovation.
KP Snacks won the Gold for service to retail, while Premier Foods picked up the Gold for service to caterers. The award for ‘actionable insight’ was won by PepsiCo UK & Ireland.
The Young Supplier Award went to Chris Leek of AB-InBev. Still only 30 years old, Chris has been with their company for nine years. Over the last 12 months he has developed strong relationships across the independent wholesale estate, developing a team working with buying group members and delivering volume growth and KPI delivery.
