Class One, the Skipton, North Yorkshire-based fruit and vegetable wholesaler has teamed up with the new Thirsk-based recipe box delivery scheme Snap! to ensure local people can enjoy the best of local food.
Class One, which started life as a market stall on Skipton High Street and quickly became a major distributor of fruit and vegetables fresh from the farm gate to the plate for chefs, schools and caterers across Yorkshire – has just delivered its first box of fruit and veg to the start-up box scheme so it can fill its boxes with the best of British grub, including Yorkshire tomatoes, onions and beetroot, Lancashire kale and British Cox apples packed into the Snap! boxes alongside recipe ideas.
Brothers Charles and Geoff Allen set up Snap! in 2015 and both passionate Yorkshiremen and foodies at heart they wanted to fuse together the box scheme idea with the quality produce on their doorstep. The Snap! recipe boxes are supplied with ingredients and recipe cards for three healthy, local meals for two or four people.
“We love the fact Snap! is a family business like ours,” said Class One director Ben Cluny. “And we share the same passion for quality and commitment to provide customers with the freshest, tastiest ingredients from as many local farmers, growers and independent food producers as possible.”
Charles Allen from Snap! said: “We are delighted to be working with Class One. As a fellow North Yorkshire business it’s great to work together and help each other grow. Class One are supplying us with the ingredients for our Yorkshire recipe boxes to ensure we have the very best locally sourced fresh produce. Working together on what’s in season and coming soon is helping us to shape our recipes to make them even better for our customers.’”
