With the sourcing of so many ‘British’ products moving overseas it’s about time we got the Red Tractor back on the road again
News that the frozen food market has returned to growth after years in the doldrums is very welcome. The new Birds Eye packaging is first class and will make the whole frozen food section look fresh and inviting although we will still struggle to build business through the cash carry because of the carriage home problem and the improving direct to store services available.
When Surf engages The Beach Boys to promote its washing powders I promise to take more interest in the category. The brand’s re-launch, which focuses on essential oils to get your washing cleaner and smelling nicely, will benefit from Unilever’s big TV spend, sampling and on line activity. Fabric conditioners don’t excite me either but you just can’t ignore the massive investments being made by P G and Unilever to promote Lenor and Comfort concentrates.
Such a sensible idea, saving everyone money and reducing packaging waste – just too many variants, that’s all! Good to see Fairy Liquid in there, too.
