Today’s new look to make a big difference

The Today’s Group has unveiled the first three of its new ‘next generation’ stores which it says will provide its wholesalers’ retail customers with a “modern, fresh and contemporary fascia option”.

Debuting in Northern Ireland, Today’s Group member Savage amp; Whitten has been the first wholesaler to sign up retailers to the revamped Today’s Local and Today’s Extra formats.

Fascias include the new Today’s Group logo and the store’s name or location, with bright graphics.

Bill Laird, managing director of the Today’s Group, said the Local format was ideal for top-up shopping stores in urban areas, while the new Extra format was more suited to larger stores offering a more extensive range of products and services to their customers such as a Post Office, food-to-go, Lottery and, in some instances, fuel.

The Extra fascia features a light coloured background with Today’s lettering in red and the Extra highlighted in yellow. The Local fascia is reversed with a red background and light coloured Today’s lettering, which distinguishes between the two store types.

The new fascia options are available to retailers through Today’s Group wholesale members who operate the Today’s Retail Club.

Laird said the new stores’ interiors were bright, fresh and contemporary and had proved very popular with regular shoppers.

They feature the new corporate strapline ‘What a difference Today’s make’.

He added: “The stores are fantastic ambassadors for our new generation fascias. The development of Today’s Extra and Local are key elements of our future retail strategy. We have already been contacted by many members making enquiries about the new look and interested in becoming part of our Retail Club.”
