Today’s Group sees own label growth

An aggressive promotional campaign has helped Today’s Group achieve considerable sales growth for its Right Choice own label, according to Today’s Group managing director Rodney Hunt.

The deals on the range are being communicated through a number of mediums including promotional leaflets and the Nisa-Today’s website so that Today’s members can promote the brand to their retailers as much as possible.

Hunt commented: “Right Choice is designed to meet with the demands of Today’s members, their retailers and more importantly, their customers, and is perfectly placed to compete with other own brands in the marketplace – especially with the 50% profit margins we are now offering.”

In addition, the group recently launched a new consumer-led competition, in partnership with its leading brand suppliers, offering customers the chance to win flat screen televisions, DVD players and i-pods, by answering the question ‘What are they famous for?’ correctly. The competition was designed by the Today’s trading team and replaces last year’s quiz ‘Who said that?’.

Nick Barker, Today’s trading director, said: “These on-pack competitions are simple, yet effective ways of communicating with our wholesalers and their customers. They are drawn to the question on our leaflet and they must log onto the Nisa-Today’s website to enter.”
