Today’s Group names new chief

Bill Laird will succeed Rodney Hunt, the long serving managing director of the Today’s Group, on his retirement at the end of March.
Formerly chief operating officer of the Midcounties Co-operative, Laird has spent his entire career within the grocery and non-food sectors and he joins the Today’s Group from his own consultancy.
Laird will join the group on March 1 and will become a member of Nisa-Today’s (Holdings) Board Limited. He said: “I am delighted to be joining Nisa-Today’s which presents me with an exciting new challenge, although I recognise Rodney Hunt will be a tough act to follow. I bring extensive industry experience and a retailer’s perspective to the wholesale business that will hopefully add a new dimension and value to the excellent relationships the group enjoys with members.”
