Today’s Group makes profit planning a priority

Today’s Group will launch its Plan for Profit range guide during the first week of May.

More than 60,000 booklets, containing a range of hints and tips for independent retailers, will be distributed to convenience stores around the country.

Last year Today’s Group retail stores achieved 70% compliance of must stock products as recommended by 2012 guide, according to an independent audit.

The Group says its core range guidance gives independent retailers expert, supplier-endorsed advice, on “must stock” products. It was developed using category information from across the sector, combined with data from suppliers and independent wholesalers.

John Kinney, retail director of the Today’s Group said: “Recent industry research highlights that an improved product range is the primary reason for the increase in shoppers now visiting convenience stores versus last year. However, one in five shoppers still think stores stock products that they will never buy or need.

“We have made it our priority to produce a guide that gives retailers the information they need to maximise their own sales and profit, and give their customers the range they want.”

The Plan for Profit booklet is also supported by the website, which includes extended range information, merchandising advice and other hints and tips. The Plan for Profit booklet can also be down loaded from this site.
