The Plan for Profit digital guide to core ranging from Today’s Group has hit a record of more than 21,000 visitors over the past year with 30% accessing the tool via a mobile phone or tablet, the wholesale group claimed this week.
Retail director at Today’s, John Kinney (pictured) said that there had been 21,000 visits to the site in the past year, with over 10,000 hits on the planograms page. In addition, the site was averaging 200 hits more per month than 12 months ago.
More than 14,000 retailers have used the website to download information – with planograms alone receiving more than 10,000 hits, aid Kinney. Other popular features include a point-of-sale printer, a find-your-local-depot page, core ranging advice, a profit-on-return calculator and new product launches.
20% of retailers accessed the site via their mobile phone, while 10% visited it via a tablet, supporting the growing importance of mobile technology in independent retail, commented Kinney.
“Businesses are increasingly seeing digital as an opportunity to drive growth; independent retailers are no exception.
“We are giving retailers the tools they need to grow, in a way that’s profitable and easy, whether it’s via a desktop computer, tablet or mobile phone.”
The Plant for Profit guide is also available as a printed booklet and this year, for the first time, the tobacco category was incorporated into the main book.
Today’s produces 60,000 Plan for Profit booklets annually and plans are underway to make the guide available via a Plan for Profit app, giving retailers access to the usual core ranging tips and tools, via smartphones and tablets.
