Tetley has been rewarded for the hard work that it has put into satisfying its customers as it picked up the Gold Medal for the Foodservice Brand of the Year at the Federation of Wholesale Distributors annual dinner.
Out of home business controller Jason Mumby says the recognition of over 500 industry peers was a special moment, and adds: “As a brand, Tetley strives to build the tea category, develop new and exciting products and devise winning promotions for both the end user and telesales operators alike. This year has been no different, and it is fantastic to be recognised for our success with an award voted for by our industry partners.”
Last year not only saw the launch of a new packaging redesign across the range, but also significant steps in Tetley moving to 100% Rainforest Alliance sourced tea, with Tetley Drawstring being one of the first products to go this way.
Promotionally, Tetley introduced a raft of incentives that saw caterers increasing their tea purchases as they were rewarded with Argos and M amp;S vouchers.
Mumby says that despite the award he will not be resting on his laurels and he is already looking forward to a busy 2012.
“Next year will yet again be busy with NPD and the spring promotion is already finalised and looking fantastic. We look forward to the continued support of the FWD members and our key trading partners as we look to implement these initiatives in the coming months,” he says.
