Sugro has announced that 300 independent shops that trade with it will be taking part in National Cuppa Day (NCD), during National Independents’ Week (NIW).
Sugro is also celebrating the value of local shops in the community by running at least 10 street parties in selected locations across the UK during NIW, as well as participating in the Walk Shop initiative.
The 300 Sugro stores talking part in NCD are in locations across the UK and will be offering tea, biscuits and sugar, helped by the support from Tetley, McVitie’s and Tate Lyle.
Philip Jenkins, managing director of Sugro, said: “It’s hard to believe that our national beverage did not have the benefit of countrywide celebration until My Shop is Your Shop came along with National Cuppa Day. It’s a brilliant idea, which is powerfully supported by key suppliers, and we are wholeheartedly getting our top 300 shops behind this and the campaign as a whole.”
