Spar UK is kicking off 2016 with a host of New Year deals.
The “Big Brand Sale” runs throughout the first six weeks of the year, boasting “Half Price or Better” on a range of household names.
The campaign also sees Spar back on TV screens to focus on the quality of its own label products, including two of its slow cooked products, BBQ Ribs and Pulled Pork, as well as its Argentinian Rios de los Andes Malbec.
Philippe Rondepierre, Spar UK head of marketing said: “New Year is a really critical time of the year, for shoppers as well as independent retailers.
“Footfall can be lower in January throughout the grocery market, so Spar retailers need to stand out to grab their share of the business. Our half price offers can help us do this, as they have the potential to achieve significant sales in our stores.
“Shoppers are increasingly looking for straight forward value and research tells us that ‘Half Price’ is their favourite mechanic. We want to give them what they look for, at the time of the year when they need it the most. It is very important that we provide our retailers with this sort of activity to help them grow sales and compete effectively,” added Rondepierre.
