Makro has made further senior management changes designed to strengthen its customer focus following the board appointments announced last month.
Managing director Jürgen Schwarze now has overall responsibility for customer management, and Sam Newton, formerly head of advertising at Asda, has been recruited to further champion the customer and will report directly to Schwarze.
The customer offer in food and non-food has also been given greater emphasis with two internal promotions. Mike Baker has been appointed (acting) procurement amp; merchandising director of food and Otto van Harmelen has been appointed (acting) procurement amp; merchandising director of non food.
