Bidfood’s Andrew Selley and Booker’s Charles Wilson will open and close the event, with Jerry Marwood of AF Blakemore, Mushtaque Ahmed of JJ Foodservice and Martin Race of Bestway Wholesale among the FWD members sharing their opinions on the sector’s response to an exceptional trading environment. The implications of Brexit, supply chain consolidation, disruptive new competitors and changing customer expectations will be among the issues discussed, with contributions also coming from data analysts, product manufacturers and Barry Naisbitt, Chief Economist of Santander.
The event at St George’s Park, Burton-on-Trent will also see the launch of new research into wholesalers’ contribution to the economy and to society. FWD will reveal the findings of its surveys of retail and foodservice customers, and HIM will unveil the results of the 2017 Wholesale Tracking Programme.
FWD Chief Executive James Bielby says: “Times of economic uncertainty can also be times of great opportunity, and we’ve gathered some of the most-respected names in wholesale to explore how our sector can anticipate and deliver change that benefits everyone in our distribution chain, from suppliers to consumers.”
Wholesale 2017: Delivering Change also includes the HIM Wholesale Awards presentation and the announcement of the McDougalls Wholesale Baking Team of the Year. Reserve your place with Nikki Connor, firstname.lastname@example.org or 01323 724952.
