Redundancies mount at DBC

Only 213 staff remain with DBC Foodservice out of the 983 employed when it entered administration.

New figures released by the administrators show that 209 staff employed at the Dundonald and Petersfield depots have transferred across to Vestey after it took over DBC’s MoD contract, and that the number made redundant has risen to 561 compared with the figure of 287 released last Thursday.

Hardest hit have been the Rotherham depot where 130 of the 171 staff have been made redundant, Darlaston, where only 4 out of 74 remain, and head office where 63 out of 104 have departed.

Excluding the two depots involved with the MoD contract, every DBC location has lost more than 50% of its staff.
