Wholesale News is the new name of ProWholesaler, the journal of the Federation of Wholesale Distributors, published by William Reed Business Media.
The first edition of the magazine under the new title will be published on October 14 and to coincide with its publication its website will also be refreshed with a new address www.wholesalenews.co.uk and a new design.
In addition to the existing features such as latest news from the wholesale channel and archives from the magazine, the content of the website will also be enhanced with additional services for members of the FWD and links to other William Reed titles such as The Grocer.
Wholesale News magazine will build on ProWholesaler’s market leading position in the wholesale channel with a great new look. The magazine’s link with the FWD will be emphasised more strongly and the vibrant, modern design will showcase the popular content more effectively.
The already successful content will be enhanced further with new features giving members the opportunity to engage more closely with the magazine and stepping up coverage of their activities. There will be more market data focused exclusively on the wholesale channel from experts such as him!, SalesOut, Nielsen and Horizons, and coverage of the foodservice sector will be strengthened further.
FWD chief executive James Bielby said: “Major changes were made to ProWholesaler when William Reed took over production in March 2005, and since then the content has evolved further, and this has proved highly successful with successive years of growth.
“But the magazine needs to reflect the fast-changing marketplace it is covering, and we now feel the time is right to refresh it. This includes a new name for the magazine, which we feel is more meaningful and reflects its purpose more clearly. The link between the magazine and the FWD will be communicated with more impact, and there will be new content to interest and inform both our members and the wider readership.”
