Palmer and Harvey is expanding its Direct Van Sales operation with the launch of P&H Bakedirect, which will join the existing stable of Direct Van Sales brands, Sweetdirect and Snacksdirect.
This latest launch will see P&H work in conjunction with key suppliers, including Warburtons, McVitie’s, Premier Foods and Carrs Foods, amongst others, to provide London-based retailers with top-selling fresh bread and morning goods from leading brands.
P&H says that along with fresh produce, retailers can also expect a regular and reliable service with no minimum drop charge and “huge time savings versus cash and carry visits”, ensuring full availability in the bread category.
A spokesman added that Bakedirect customers would also benefit from P&H’s customer sales representatives’ “deep-rooted category expertise and in-store merchandising” with every delivery.
“The physical presence and ‘eyes in the store’ approach ensures retailers stock the correct baked ranges to meet customer needs and maximise sales,” he said.
Noel Robinson, MD of Direct Van Sales at P&H, said: “Expanding the P&H Direct Van Sales offering with Bakedirect runs in line with our ongoing commitment to retailers.
“Our expertise in this area, as the UK’s number one direct-to-store van sales operation, ensures that retailers not only have unrivalled service, but also guaranteed profit when it comes to their impulse and baked ranges.
“We look forward to working closely with our suppliers on this new venture, with the view to further expand the Bakedirect offer in the future.”
Mark Jones, head of sales development at Warburtons, added: “We are proud to play a central role in bringing Bakedirect to fruition. Not only will this partnership allow us to bring some of the nation’s number one bakery products to even more shelves and shoppers in the London area, it also builds on our legacy of strong relationships with the independent retail sector.”
P&H Bakedirect has launched within the M25 area, with a fleet of 25 vans.
