Parfetts staff take next step

Parfetts Cash amp; Carry has taken the next steps in developing its employee owned status.

It is just under a year, since the Landmark Wholesale member announced that the family was handing ownership of the business to its employees in order to safeguard the Parfetts’ ethos that had been established by founder Alan Parfett and continued by his sons Steve and Robert over the past 29 years.

Employee Councils at each depot have been created to represent the staff at general meetings, with Gary Power, a buyer at Parfetts’ Halifax depot, appointed by the Councils as employee elective director on the main employee trust board.

Parfetts managing director Steve Parfett said: “The first Employee Ownership Council meetings have taken place and they have agreed changes to reflect the transition to employee ownership. This includes new branding, a new company philosophy and a constitution which will direct the company to future success.”
