A coffee morning held at the Go Local Extra store in North Wingfield, Chesterfield earlier this month raised over £320 for the Macmillan cancer support charity.
Store owner “Rocky” Amardeep Sandhu was delighted with the turnout: “I’d like to thank everyone for coming and making the event so successful. I’d also like to thank Luke Evans Bakery who donated lots of cakes and my sister, Kiren, for organising the coffee morning and creating the buzz around North Wingfield.”
Chris Salt of Parfetts’ Sheffield Depot said: “Once again, Rocky and Kiren have done a great job and worked incredibly hard to make this event such a success. It was also pleasing to see how well the local community got involved and how much support came from suppliers.”
Parfetts launched the Go Local symbol group in 2012; it now has 1,000 members, with Go Local Extra at the top of the tree in terms of promotional compliance and store standards. Rocky’s GLE store is located off a main road on a bus route in North Wingfield, a large village approx. 4.5 miles south-east of Chesterfield. In 2014, the store won the Store of the Year Award (Sheffield Depot) at the inaugural Parfetts’ Retail Awards.
