P H ramps up digital as online sales take-off

Delivered specialist Palmer and Harvey has re-launched its website to make it easier to navigate and order from.

The move follows the free-to-download “Easy Order” iPhone app, which was launched last year and available to all retailers who use Palmer and Harvey online ordering. The wholesaler intends to make similar mobile functionality available to other mobile/tablet users in the near future.

Rob James, Palmer and Harvey’s digital marketing manager, told Wholesale News: “Palmer and Harvey’s online business has grown an incredible 40% year-on-year, and this statistic alone highlights how important the online channel is becoming. With the accelerating pace of life, retailers are becoming more and more time-starved. We want to help our existing customers and potential new customers by making continual improvements to the online journey. Ultimately, we want to ensure that navigating through the website is as quick and as easy as possible.”

The wholesaler is expecting more customers to choose online as their preferred method of ordering as more become tech-savvy. As well as the new website and mobile ordering, P amp;H is now also emailing promotions to its customers and offering online promotions and the group also stressed this week that “this is just the beginning, and there is much more to come”.

The new website and other digital developments will be showcased on the P amp;H Online stand at its annual retail trade show Pro-retail on May 13 and 14.
