New Year brings a new look for the UK’s No.1 selling Cigar

Scandinavian Tobacco Group UK (STG UK) has announced a new look for its top-selling [SymphonyIRI w/e 07.12.13] Café Crème cigar brand, which has just celebrated its 50th anniversary.

The company believes the new design for Café Crème will ensure it maintains its market leadership in 2014 and beyond.

Launching at the end of January, the new-look packaging will be rolled out across the entire cigar range. The redesign is intended to showcase the brand’s 50 years of heritage by including an on-pack flash stating “Since 1963″, as well as including more prominent imagery of the cigar and a new, bolder lozenge-shaped logo.

Alan Graham, Head of Marketing at STG UK, commented: “Originally launched in 1963, Café Crème has enjoyed huge success over the last 50 years which has allowed it to become not only the No.1 selling cigar in the UK, but also the world. The Café Crème family now accounts for 40% of the entire UK Cigar market and is worth over £74m in the UK alone.

“By implementing this redesign, we’ll safeguard its future success, especially as the arrival of the Dark Market in smaller stores looms ever closer.”
