New Warwick wins supply contract with universities

Cardiff-based Today’s Group member New Warwick has won a contract with the South Wales Universities and Colleges Board worth over pound;1m, to supply the shops, cafes and canteens of the colleges and universities in its catchment area.

New Warwick, which has been a Today’s Group member for 20 years and trades from a 10,000sq ft depot in Cardiff Bay, beat competition from a number of larger national wholesale operators for the right to distribute its range of impulse products, including confectionery, soft drinks and baked goods.

“This is an important contract for us and one we’re delighted to win, especially given the current economic climate,” said David Gyles of New Warwick.

“The Universities and College Board were very keen to push FairTrade products in the shops and eateries on campuses across the region. That is an area of our business that we excel in and are justifiably proud of.”
