Bestway is pleased to announce the appointment of Rizwan Pervez as operations director for the group with immediate effect.
Pervez will have overall control of all retail and foodservice operational matters across all 63 Batleys and Bestway depots; in addition to the company’s symbol and retail clubs – Best-one and Xtra Local and the Bestway Direct delivered operation.
Younus Sheikh, managing director of Bestway Wholesale says: “I am delighted that Rizwan has agreed to take on the role of operations director. Having worked across many departments within the group, most recently as marketing director, he brings a wealth of experience to the role and has a total understanding of where we currently are as a business and where we are striving to get to in the future. His move comes at an exciting time for the group as we have recently restructured our operations to provide a greater regional focus to customers and improve efficiencies.”
Pervez responded: “Operations is an area where you can see tangible results in a very short time and although challenging, it is also very rewarding. Moreover it is a role that will bring me into greater contact with depot managers and customers. I believe that by working together and learning from each other we can continue to build our customers and suppliers’ businesses.”
Former operations director, David Gilroy, has now departed the Bestway Group by mutual consent. In a statement, the board of directors said: “[We] wish to extend our gratitude to David for his hard work and commitment to the company over the last 9 years and wish him success in his future endeavours.”
