Booker has launched a new fresh and chilled delivery service for independent retailers, in partnership with Kerry Foods Direct To Store (KFDTS).
The Booker Fresh service will be offered to members of Premier, Booker’s symbol group, from February, and will be rolled out to all Booker’s retail registered customers by the summer. Booker’s Happy Shopper own-brand will be available through the service.
As part of the new relationship between Booker and KFDTS a customer charter has been agreed which guarantees:
delivered service at cash and carry prices.
no minimum order.
minimum shelf life.
sale or return on selected products.
single pick or small case size.
six days a week service.
morning delivery (wherever possible).
four-weekly range and price guide.
“Booker Fresh provides our customers with a fantastic opportunity to significantly grow their fresh and chilled food sales,” said Steve Fox, director of retail and premier.
“This is a massive improvement to our existing service. We have negotiated on behalf of our customers a number of benefits which they will not receive from any other symbol group or cash and carry. Booker Fresh is an ideal solution for all fresh food needs in one delivery.”
Paul Stubbins, sales and marketing director of KFDTS, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed as Booker’s partner in this venture.
“The deal represents an excellent opportunity for Booker customers to grow a disciplined chilled food business on a daily, little and often basis.”
