WDS, previously Direct Drinks, is expanding to a new premises in Bury, Lancashire allowing the wholesaler to offer a wider product range to businesses in the North West and West Yorkshire.
The new facilities on Peel Mills Industrial Estate will allow the 16-strong team to grow and the ranges they can supply to increase too. Changes to the website also mean customers can order direct at a time which suits them with free local delivery.
Since WDS began trading in 2010, the product range has grown from just drinks to include catering supplies, snacks, confectionary and alcoholic drinks, as well as the staple soft drinks.
“ 2016 saw an amazing change in the business and we have worked hard as a team to really enhance our service and product offering – at the end of the day if we don’t keep our customers happy we don’t had a business. I think this is something that spurred on our investment in the ordering enhancements to the site, the increase in warehouse facility and even the name change – so far it’s working,” says Ryan Smith, MD.
WDS is the owner of Beer Hunter, an online ‘beer matching’ service that allows real ale and lager enthusiasts to purchase global beers from breweries such as Duval, Beavertown and Brewdog.
The new premises will feature a mock bar from which potential and current customers can come and sample from the vast product range, meaning local businesses can be sure they are providing top quality food and drink to their customers. Beer enthusiasts can also come and sample real ales from around the world at specially organised events.
“We hope the mock bar and special events will bring the local community together and will give business owners and beer drinkers a chance to sample some great quality products whilst meeting other like-minded people and growing their network. We’re really excited so watch this space!” added Smith.
