My Shop is Your Shop soft drinks partnership helps rebuild kids’ playground

Sheffield retailer Mandeep Singh is urging customers to help rebuild a nearby children’s play area by buying Britvic products from his store.

Britvic’s Transform Your Patch campaign, in partnership with PepsiCo, is part of the Federation of Wholesale Distributors (FWD) My Shop is Your Shop campaign and aims to bring local communities together by offering customers the chance to contribute to the regeneration of a local ‘patch’, such as a playground, skatepark or five-a-side football pitches. A portion of every sale of participating Britvic drinks goes towards the fund.

Singh, of Premier Singh’s in the City, has advertised the campaign in his store for two months to rally support for the play area.  Every Britvic drink sold in Mandeep’s store contributes to the fund to regenerate the local Grammar Street playground that is badly in need of investment.

Says Singh: “Transform Your Patch is a really great idea because it gives us the chance to support our community and increase our sales at the same time. I’ve seen uplift in my Britvic soft drinks sales, and all the POS I’ve put up in the store is generating a buzz from my customers, so it’s win-win situation.”

James Bielby, chief executive of the FWD said: “We are delighted to support such a community-focused initiative with our retailer champions.  It gives retailers an easy way to engage with their local community and hopefully make a big difference.”
