Decision making at Booker has speeded up since the takeover, according to marketing director Mark Collier.
For example, he said, Booker had taken on board criticism of delivery charges and would offer larger customers free delivery depending on amount spent and distance.
The Booker Express delivery service for caterers, which was being trialled at 50 depots, will be rolled out to 100 more.
Despite other redundancies, Booker will be adding to its sales force, said Collier. “We want more colleagues on the front line talking to customers.”
And recruitment to Premier will focus on new customers to Booker rather than converting existing ones.
